About me

Making a moment permanent for someone, so they can return to it and feel it as if it were happening now, is one of the parts of this work I love most. Much of the video made for brands and venues shows what a place looks like; the best of it lets you feel what it is like to be there. That is why the detail matters so much to me.

Detail has always been where my mind goes. As a child I spent hours daydreaming, building whole stories in my head, and I still find myself drawn to the small details around me. When I discovered the camera, I realised I could finally show others what I had been seeing in my head all along.

From Sydney, as a Polish-Australian who likes to see a project through, I run Sawa Studios and direct, film and edit every project myself, so the person you brief is the person behind the camera and in the edit. Hotels, events and the stories behind a brand are where I am happiest. Each project is treated as if it were my own, and you will feel that from the first call.

What Sawa means

In Polish, Warsaw is Warszawa. According to legend, the city takes its name not from a king or a battle, but from a couple, Wars and Sawa, whose story has been told for generations.

Polish legends have always drawn me in with their sense of mystery. Carrying Sawa’s name keeps a part of home close. It also reflects a conviction about storytelling: the stories that endure are about people, not titles. The same is true of every brand, venue and event. Good video brings the people behind it into view and tells their story with enough care to be remembered.

This is why the work matters to me. Helping a client share their story and message brings me real joy, and no two projects are alike, because no two stories are.

That is where you will find me: somewhere between legend and real life.

Her name is held within Warsaw’s, and mine within hers: sAWa. Said SAH-va, the Polish way.
